It is fun to play with FPGA and CVS
Recently, I get the change to play with several big toys, including National Instrument FPGA (Field Programmable gate array). Another one is an old National Instrument CVS 1456. It is a compact vision system used for controlling firewire type A cameras. I am able to hook the two modules to the departmental ethernet net work and control the two devices remotely. I would say the controlling is quite easy because the easiness of Labview. I have been able to access the camera, set sine wave output, control a galvanometer and etc. In the following days, I am going to play with its digital I/O and synchronization functoin.
